Who we are

What we collect

  • The comparison tool runs in your browser — the answers you give (cover level, boiler, excess, etc.) are used to filter results on your device and are not sent to us or to providers.
  • Contact form — if you message us, we receive the name, email and message you submit, solely to reply to you.
  • Analytics & cookies — we may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies in your browser settings.

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not pass your details to insurers or providers, whether for marketing or to arrange a policy. When you click "View deal", you leave our site and any information you then enter is handled under the provider's own privacy policy.

Marketing emails

If you ask us to email your comparison, we use your email address to send it to you. If you also tick the optional box to receive boiler-cover deals, tips and price-drop alerts, we add you to our own mailing list and send you marketing emails on that basis.

  • Lawful basis: your consent. We only send marketing emails if you have opted in; the tick box is never pre-selected, and you don't have to opt in to use the comparison tool.
  • What you'll get: occasional emails from Boiler Cover UK about boiler-cover deals and price changes, and a yearly reminder to re-compare before your renewal — nothing else.
  • We never sell or share your address with insurers, providers or any third party for their own marketing.
  • Unsubscribe any time using the link in every email, or by emailing us — we'll remove you promptly.
  • We store the date and wording of your consent so we can show it was given, and we may record which comparison options you chose (e.g. homeowner or landlord) so our emails are relevant.
  • We use a third-party email platform to manage the list and send emails; it processes the data on our instructions under a data-processing agreement.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one, the provider's affiliate network may set a cookie to attribute a referral so we can be paid a commission. This does not identify you to us personally.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or erase the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these, email us at the address above.

Retention

We keep contact-form messages only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, then delete them.
