Boiler cover by area

Boiler cover is available right across the UK, and the providers on our panel work nationally. Pick your town or city below for a local view of what cover looks like where you live.

HomeAreas

Wherever you are in the UK, the same handful of national brands cover most postcodes — so the plans, tiers and excess choices you'll see are broadly the same in Glasgow as they are in Brighton. Cover is sold and priced largely on a national basis, not by region, so don't expect a dramatically different headline price just because of where you live.

What can vary slightly is engineer labour rates and the density of available local engineers, which feeds into how providers price call-outs and how quickly an engineer can reach you. Big cities tend to have plenty of approved engineers and fast response times; more rural areas may see longer waits at peak demand. That's a reason to check a provider's claims and call-out process rather than to expect a different premium.

Remember the key distinction as you compare: some plans are FCA-regulated insurance, which come with FSCS protection and access to the Financial Ombudsman Service; others are service or maintenance plans, which are not regulated and have neither. We never call a service plan "insurance" — and the local pages below flag which is which.

We compare a selected panel of providers, not the whole market, and prices are indicative and last checked June 2026. This is information, not advice, and we may earn a commission if you buy. Always confirm the current price, excess and terms — and that an engineer covers your postcode — on the provider's own website.

Does my location change the price?

For most national providers, the answer is: not by much. Boiler cover premiums are driven mainly by the type of cover you choose (boiler-only versus full home cover), the excess you set, the age and type of your boiler, and any add-ons — far more than by your postcode. Two identical homes in different cities will usually see very similar quotes.

Where location matters is on the practical side: confirm that a provider's approved engineers actually cover your postcode, check the typical call-out and response times in your area, and read the small print on any local exclusions. If you're in a flat, a shared boiler or a communal heating system may need a different approach — and landlords have their own rules to follow, which we cover on our landlord boiler cover page.

Whichever town or city you're in, the smartest move is the same: line up the providers on our panel side by side, sort by cheapest or best value, and check excess and exclusions before you commit. Browse the full providers list, read up on the different types of cover, or work through our boiler cover guides for help deciding.
